The Chinese in Wales Association (CIWA), is a grassroots charity, working to improve the lives of ethnic Chinese communities resident in Wales.  (Our communities include people living, working, studying or seeking sanctuary in Wales, having migrated from mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan etc.)

CIWA registered as a CIO in 2017, and has built a long -trusted relationship with local communities, to support disadvantaged individuals and families address the inequalities that they face.   We are the first point of contact for residents with Chinese heritage, and our service users come from a wide variety of backgrounds, from those born and raised in the UK, to refugees and recent migrants.

CIWA has cultural and language proficient staff, with lived experience and expertise in the delivery of a wide range of support services and cultural programmes. CIWA delivers essential language and culturally appropriate advice on welfare, housing, healthcare, education and employment, Arts and cultural activities.  Signposting and engagement with key service providers, translation and interpreter services, Autism support, carer and elderly support groups, youth development, and a range of activities designed to prevent isolation, improve health and well-being and to encourage engagement and cultural exchange between Chinese and Welsh communities.
