WKRU (Wales Kidney Research Unit/Uned Ymchwil Arennol Cymru) is a partnership between Cardiff University, Bangor University and Swansea University. We are funded by Health and Care Research Wales and part of its core research infrastructure delivering an All-Wales strategy for the study of diagnosis, prevention, treatment and social context of kidney disease.
At WKRU researchers, clinical staff, patients, families and carers work together, to answer important health and social care research questions, and develop state-of-the-art services that benefit population needs. We work with commercial, public, private, charity and third sector partners to bring investment into Wales improving the health and wealth of the population. See below a video of some of WKRU activities in the lab in Cardiff – a day in the life.
