Note: This project is reforming and continuing in another form, as a project of our current partner, Housing Justice Cymru.
In Wales, many people seeking asylum find themselves with no access to work, housing, or public funds. This leaves them at serious risk of homelessness and exploitation.
Over the past three years, our Hosting project in Cardiff and Newport connected people in this situation with local hosts offering a safe place to stay. As this funding period has ended, we remain committed to continuing this vital work by offering at least 10 hosting in Cardiff and Newport.
Through Hosting, we’ve learned a great deal about the barriers faced by people seeking asylum – and we’re still learning. We are dedicated to exploring new, long-term housing solutions in Wales and using our insight to influence policy, shape good practice, and advocate for a more welcoming system.
