Therapeutic Activities Group CIC

Therapeutic Activities Group is a non-profit, community interest company who facilitate delivery of the therapeutic, early intervention ‘The Baxter Project’ in schools throughout South Wales. The programme, named after its founding puppy, uses companion animals to lower defences and bridge communication with young people facilitating high quality engagements and higher quality outcomes.

Informed by the Trauma Recovery Model and a plethora of other theories, frameworks, models and techniques, The Baxter Project is innovative and unique and is making its making significant strides in supporting young people around South Wales.

The programme was initially designed to mitigate the long term impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Childhood Trauma, in an effort deter antisocial behaviours and attitudes, however it quickly became apparent that the programme techniques have a positive impact on a wider range of young people than simply those at risk of entry to the CJS.

The Baxter Project supports the young people who need support, we work each day to improve the lives of young people who need it the most, the most vulnerable and the most challenging.

We want to set the standard in therapeutic programme delivery we want to break the mould.
